Shaykh Abdul Nasir Jangda
Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda is the founder and director of Qalam Institute. As a Dallas native, he went to Karachi to memorize the Qur’an and within the year, returned home to continue his school education. After graduating from High School, he went back to Karachi to study Islam full-time at Jamia Binoria. He graduated from the rigorous 7-year program in 2002 at the top of his class and concurrently completed a B.A. and M.A. in Arabic from Karachi University. He also obtained a Masters in Islamic Studies from the University of Sindh. After returning to Dallas, he taught Arabic at the University of Texas at Arlington, served as an instructor and curriculum advisor to various Islamic schools and Islamic studies programs, and served as the Imam at the Colleyville Masjid in the Dallas area for 3 years. He is also a founding member and chairman of Mansfield Islamic Center.

Ustadh AbdelRahman Murphy
Ustadh AbdelRahman Murphy is an instructor at Qalam Institute and the director of Roots DFW. Born and raised in Chicago, Ustadh AbdelRahman has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. He has pursued traditional Islamic studies at the Alimiyah level over the last decade with numerous teachers, primarily under the mentorship of Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda. He has been serving the community in a full-time capacity in various roles such as a youth director, Islamic Studies teacher, chaplain, and imam.
Ustadh AbdelRahman currently resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and son. Along with his community programs, you can benefit from him by accompanying him on one of the Qalam Travel trips or attending a workshop conducted by him, such as the Faith Intensive.
Mufti Hussain Kamani
Mufti Hussain Kamani was born and raised in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. His journey to pursue sacred Islamic knowledge began at age 6. By the age of 9, he completed the memorization of the Holy Quran. To further advance his studies in the Islamic Sciences, he traveled to the United Kingdom and pursued formal Islamic authorizations (ijazahs). For 7 years, Mufti Kamani studied a rigorous curriculum covering the Arabic language and literature, Islamic jurisprudence, Tafseer of the Holy Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic Philosophy, and Aqeedah. Afterwards, he was selected for a post-graduate level course in Islamic Law and Legal Verdicts, which he completed within two years. He later earned his graduate degree in Business Management from the University of Coventry in the UK.
Mufti Kamani currently resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and four children. He serves as an Imam and is on the Board of Directors for the Islamic Association of Carrollton (Masjid Al-Rahman). He is also an instructor for the Qalam Institute and many have benefited from his podcast series on the 40 Hadith of Imam An-Nawawi.
